Release Date: 05/18/26
New Features / Improvements:
Signal-Based Trip Filtering
- Filter trips by signal name — search across all recorded signals with a type-to-search dropdown
- Progressive cross-filtering across vehicles, configurations, and signals — selecting a filter in one category automatically narrows available options in the others, so you never hit an empty result set
Trip Details
- View full signal metadata for each trip, broken down by configuration
Trip Duration Sorting
- Sort the trips table by trip duration (ascending or descending)
File Browser Enhancements
- User permissions — download, upload and delete access is now gated by your user role
- Delete files — administrators can delete files directly from the File Browser
- UX improvements — general usability refinements across the File Browser interface
A2L Label Validation
- When modifying measurement selections on an XCP or RMBA configuration, labels are now validated against the A2L file to prevent invalid selections
VDS Web Manager
- New local web-based management interface for VDS loggers, accessible from a browser on the same network
Configuration Export
- Export device configurations directly from the Configuration page
XCP Predefined DAQ List Support
- Support for static/predefined DAQ lists defined in A2L files — the device now correctly uses pre-configured DAQ entries without requiring dynamic allocation
Device Snapshot Logs
- Device snapshot logs are now uploaded to the cloud for remote diagnostics
VDS User Admin Web Interface
- New web-based GUI for managing VDS users on Windows
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an issue where user invite emails were not being sent
- Fixed a race condition that could cause device status messages to be dropped during trip transitions
- Fixed an issue where recorded data files containing unknown CAN message IDs would fail to process entirely — unknown IDs are now skipped gracefully
- Fixed XETK devices not properly filtering configuration events
- Fixed an issue where clicking “Create” on a new configuration multiple times could create duplicate configurations
- Fixed the configuration export button to correctly send the configuration
- Improved performance when selecting or deselecting large numbers of signals in bulk operations
- Fixed an issue where vicar would crash on startup when the configured OBD CAN interface was missing on the device
- Fixed device shutdown delays caused by the OBD discovery loop not stopping promptly
- Fixed a crash on device startup when using predefined XCP DAQ lists with missing measurement definitions
- Fixed the XCP stop command not reaching the ECU during device shutdown
